Hayling on BBC Radio Solent

BBC Radio Solent have decided to include Hayling Island in on their " Solent Summer Roadshow " which is great news. Their plan is to park their single Decker bus just behind the Beachlands office on Thursday 16th August and do live broadcasts between 10am & 4pm throughout the day.

The bus also has on board six computers which are all connected to the Internet via a satellite, together with a printer, digital camera, video camera, scanner, photo copier, music and video editing software and Website production software. Visitors to the bus can try their hand at making a web page or a radio show.

They will also be there to give information out about BBC Radio Solent, BBC South or just chat with people.
Whilst on air they will be telling their listeners where they are, so hopefully this will encourage people to go down and meet the presenters etc on Hayling Island, or make it part of their day out.
If you have any fascinating facts about Hayling Island, the history of it, how many people live on the island, how many visitors it gets each year, the history of the Hayling Billy line, details on the ferry etc please can you email it so I can forward it on to them, to make it part of their show, to promote Hayling Island as a great place to live or visit.
