Container of Hazardous Material On The Beach

Today a container labelled as containing hazardous material was found washed up on Hayling Beach, opposite Funlands Amusements.

Police attended and erected a safety exlusion cordon around the conatiner.

A Hampshire Fire & Rescue Officer visited the scene and ascertained that the container was intact and able to be removed by specialist personnel wearing the necessary PPE for its safe disposal.

There was no imminent danger of any contamination from the contents of the container to the numerous onlookers and dogwalkers who gathered to watch the proceedings.
