RNLI 'Charity Day' at Hayling's Seaside Railway.

- Fri 8th Feb 2008

On Tuesday 19 February the volunteers of the Hayling Seaside Railway will be joining forces with their counterparts from the Hayling Lifeboat Station, to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. With all money raised from the passenger train service that day donated directly to the RNLI cause.

This is the first of this year's programme of regular charity events at the Hayling Seaside Railway, with a fund raiser in aid of Hayling's ever popular 'First Responders' volunteer paramedic team scheduled for the May school holidays, and an as yet unnamed charity following in October. Past beneficiaries have included the Naomi House Children's Hospice and Motor Neurone Disease.

As well as its usual Saturday, Sunday and Market Day Wednesday 'Winter' services, trains will also be running every day during the February School Holidays from Saturday 16 to Sunday 24 February. With regular departures to Eastoke Corner from Beachlands Station, by the Funland Amusement Park and Carousel Cafe, every 45 minutes from 11 am until mid afternoon.
