Tai Chi Chuan
- Mon 25th Feb 2002
The Chinese martial art of Tai Chi Chuan is taught weekly at Mill Rythe School. This is a very old martial art based on the theory of Yin and Yang. The particular style we teach is the Wudang style...The lessons cover:
Pushing Hands (Tui Shou) - These exercises with a partner develop sensitivity, relaxation and instinctive responses
Self Defence Applications (San Shou) - The practical self defence applications of movements from the hand form. These applications involve evasion of attacks with simultaneous counter attack.
Tai Chi Chi Gung and Conditioning exercises: Some exercises improve flexibility and relaxation, others increase strength and stamina
Hand Form - This is the form that most people associate with Tai Chi. It is excellent for relaxation, increasing flexibility and developing co-ordinated and focused movement.
