Fire at Rose in June
- Thu 20th Mar 2008
This afternoon the local fire brigade were called to the Rose in June public House on Selsmore Road.
A fire was reported burning inside the building and seemed to be quite severe.
The fire fighters donned breathing apparatus to enable them to enter the pub and tackle the blaze which appears to have started in an old sofa.
Two young workmen were on the premises at the time employed by a maintenance firm to erect metal shutters to the windows.
How the fire was started inside the building has not yet been discovered.
The fire fighters are still there as I write this news item.
