‘Scrumpy and Western’ comes to Eastoke Corner.

- Sun 20th Jul 2008

A touch of ‘Scrumpy and Western’ will be the order of the day at Eastoke Corner from 3pm to 5pm on Sunday 27 July, as the ‘Mangled Wurzles’ take to the stage, for the latest in the Hayling’s BEST ‘Playing on the Plaza’ free live music events.

Classic West Country anthems celebrating cider drinking, combine harvesters and err............ more cider drinking, will be well to the fore as the free concert on Eastoke’s new ‘liveability plaza’, marks the start of a whole fortnight of contryside fun at the 2008 Hayling Scarecrow Festival.

More than just a Wurzels tribute band, The Mangledwurzels play Wurzels songs, old and new, blended with a selection of self-penned titles and pop standards 'Mangled' in true Wurzels tradition.

More information on Playing on the Plaza, the 2008 Hayling Scarecrow Festival, and other forthcoming projects and events from the award winning Hayling’s BEST MTI Group, can be found at their website http://playingontheplaza.co.uk/

While everything you ever wanted to know about Somerset’s finest the Mangled Wurzels, can be discovered at http://www.mangledwurzels.co.uk/

In the highly unlikely event that the Sunday afternoon concert is rained off by an unseasonable spot of Hayling liquid sunshine, the music will relocate under cover to the main hall of Hayling College, in Church Road, Mengham.
