Hayling Island Surf CamThe Hayling Surf Cam should work without problems on most systems, but there are a few settings that can interfere with the service. If you cannot see the streaming video the following points should help. Alternatively see our FAQ below.
To enable java first download the installation file from the official download page (click here). Download the "OFFLINE Install" and then run the file to fix the problem. The streaming video can take a few seconds to load when viewed for the first time in particular. Wait 20 seconds or so. If the video still fails to load it is most likely that you have a firewall blocking the streaming video. This is particularly likely when viewing from a work connection. To rectify this your firewall needs to be configured to allow access to port 2222. We will soon be launching new surfcam features that will be usable even when connecting via a firewall. It may be night. At night all that is usually visible are the lights of Southsea pier. Try going to bed and trying again in the morning |
