Will you add a note to the sea fishing section?

This is an important note and originates from official sources: It is now illegal to keep bass which are less than 45 cms in length or take more than three bass in a day. Sea Fishery officers do visit from time to time and the fines are hefty if you are caught breaking these regulations. It is also illegal to fish for bass from a boat in the harbours.

Hi Eccles, I thought there is now legislation that says no bass to be taken January to June, then just one per session in the second half of the year.

You could well be right, I can’t be sure that I am completely up to date.

I think that’s from boats in the Solent ? (later add) I just checked and it also applies to shore anglers.

I’ve just read through the official govt document. For the solent area it means :

•from 1 January to 30 June 2016 catch and release only permitted

•from 1 July to 31 December 2016 one bass per fisherman per day

Recreational fisheries include fishing from the shore.

Hi Guys, below is the link to the Gov website confirming the no bass policy first six months, then 1 bass per day for the second six months.

Sound like this is something we should definitely include on the page.  Does anyone have full details?
